Dear baseball "brothers & sisters"-

Back in November, one of the pastors at the church I attend preached on the parable of the talents (Matt. 25:14-29). The congregation was encouraged to creatively multiply $100 in whatever way we could to be used to meet the needs of the many in our city who are in need. At the end of the service, volunteers of all ages, including youth and children, were asked to take $25, $50 or $100 and multiply it through their own creative efforts for the Kingdom through January 2010.  Funds raised from the Kingdom Assignments will be used to serve the least, the lost and the last in our City.
I am excited to share with you what God has laid upon my heart as a way for me to use the talents, resources and relationships God has blessed me with. I accepted the challenge to take $100 and multiply it by hosting a "Baseball Palooza": A gathering of baseball professionals in the Austin community who are willing to give back and invest in your baseball future. All of the professionals listed below have agreed to give their time at no cost. I will be using my $100 to buy snacks and purchase materials for this event.
What I am asking is that you generously donate $10 per person or $25 max per family for your participation. All monies collected will go towards serving the needs of those less fortunate in Austin (checks payable to FEFC). We will also be gathering gently used baseball equipment to be donated to the Montopolis youth baseball organization in East Austin.
